Frequently Asked Questions

What Should I Wear for Forest School/Outdoor Activities

We always say there is no such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothing! We recommend coming in long trousers (not shorts) and a long sleeve top. This is to protect your arms and legs all year round in any weather. In the summer a long sleeve thin t-shirt or base layer, in the winter the same can be worn but add to it a hoody or jumper, leg wear we recommend jogging bottoms but not jeans (if jeans get wet you will get very cold very quickly and will find it hard to warm up) On wetter day a waterproof jacket is essential as the sessions will still run, waterproof trousers are also recommended or a change of clothes. Footwear, it is vitally important to avoid wearing trainers, when the ground is wet even a good pair of trainers will not provide suitable grip, we recommend wellies, walking boots or at the very least walking shoes. If we deem it unsafe around your footwear we may not allow you onto the site to take part in the activities.

Will I Need to Bring Food and Drinks

During ALL of our sessions we provide drinks (hot and cold) and a light snack. If we are running an activity day a hot lunch will be provided and also snacks during the day. If you have booked a specific event with us we can make arrangements to provide lunch for everyone attending including parents (this will be charged extra on top of the activities) We can provide hot and cold food, party picnic boxes, sweet cones etc. Please ask for a quote when booking you activities.

What if I Need the Toilet

We do have an on site toilet facility, however it is not 5*. It is a portable camping toilet in a toilet tent, it is clean and fresh and wipes, toilet roll and sanitizer are available in the toilet tent. We hope to install a compostable toilet in 2022.

Is On Site Parking Available

Parking is available at the public car park which is about a 400m walk from the site. Details of the car park and how to find us will be sent to you via email before the event. If you have a disability we can arrange with prior notice to allow you access through the gate and park within about 100m of the site (the ground is uneven and a little hilly so please speak to us before booking an activity) If you are staying over night with us cars will be parked in a secure carpark with a locked gate during the course of the over night activity.
